PALO ALTO, California – October 11, 2007 – frog design is a charter sponsor of CONNECTING’07, the Icsid/IDSA World Design Congress, taking place from October 17-20th in San Francisco. Thousands of representatives from international corporations, design firms, government entities, and higher education institutions, spanning more than 35 countries across the world, will attend the largest and most influential gathering of industrial designers to date. The Congress will feature more than 220 speakers including Bruce Sterling, Alex Steffen of WorldChanging.com, Sam Lucente of HP, Paul Saffo, Yves Behar of fuseproject, and Naoto Fukasawa, among others.
Hartmut Esslinger, founder of frog design, will deliver a keynote speech titled “Form Follows Emotion,” which will explore his life-long philosophy of taking an emotional approach to design and present his future vision of designers driving a more socially responsible and sustainable industry. Additional speakers from frog design will include Doreen Lorenzo, president and COO; Luke Williams, creative director; and Jon Kolko, senior design analyst. Coinciding with the Congress, Jennifer Kilian, creative director, and Gabriel White, principal designer, will speak at the Interaction Design Association’s Intersection event “Where Industrial and Interaction Design Meet” hosted at CNET. In celebration of the Congress, frog will open its doors to host a studio party on Thursday, October 18th in San Francisco. frog will also release an exclusive print edition of its award-winning Design Mind newsletter.
